Andy began his career in the investment industry 10 years before joining Mairs & Power as Vice President and Investment Manager. In 2016, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and in 2018, he succeeded Mark L. Henneman as Chief Investment Officer.
As the firm's Chief Investment Officer, Andy implements overall investment policy, directs portfolio management, research, trading, investment strategy and risk management functions and has oversight responsibility for the equity research staff.
He is the lead manager of the Growth Fund and co-manager of the Small Cap Fund. Previously, he had served as co-manager of the Growth Fund from January 2015 through March 2019. He was the first lead manager of the Small Cap Fund when it was established in 2011.
Andy began his investment career in 1997 with Securian Asset Management where he served as an investment officer. In 2003, he joined U.S. Bancorp Asset Management in Minneapolis where he co-managed a small cap blend mutual fund.
Andy earned a BBA in finance and mathematics and an MS degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he participated in the Applied Security Analysis Program.
He is a CFA charterholder.
Andy serves on the Board of Northern Star Council/Boy Scouts of America.
He enjoys spending time with his family on the lake, on the slopes and biking, taking advantage of each of the distinct four seasons that Minnesota has to offer.
